It was to become really popular during the 18th century and was used to serve the wine in restaurants and inns. The bottle was both practical - with its solid base it didn't tip over easily - and fun. If blown into it makes the whistling sound to which it owes its name - Fütyülős meaning whistle. Patrons at the inn would blow into the bottle to indicate it was empty and needed a refill.

Made from delicious dried plum, plum pálinka, and pure honey and like other members of the Fütyülős family characterized by an intense fruity flavor and aroma, which is complemented by the softness of honey.

Edward Prince of Wales, visited Hungary and became an ardent fan of Fütyülős, asking for it everywhere he went – in restaurants, hotels, even on the train on hiw way to and from Hungary. It is to him that we owe the famous quote: „ In soda it is better than whisky and in tea it is better than rum.” From then on, Fütyülős Apricot Distillate never looked back.
