Hungarian Wine House has been providing excellent, exclusively selected Hungarian wines to its customers since 2008.

Hungarian wine has a history dating back to at least Roman times. With its 22 wine regions, Hungary offers a diverse range of varietals thanks to the unique terroir, style and character embodied within each. Some regions are best known for their white wines, while some are fêted for their reds, but rosé wines are proving increasingly popular during in the hot summer months too. Some of the most well-known Hungarian wines are Tokaji Aszú which is an exquisite dessert wine, or Bulls Blood, also known as Bikavér, that is a premium, dry Hungarian wine.

There are several indigenous Hungarian wine grape varieties such as Kékfrankos (Blaufrankische), Kadarka, Cserszegi Fűszeres (Cserszeg Spice) Juhfark (Sheep’s Tail), Kéknyelű (Blue Stalk), Irsai Olivér, Furmint, Ezerjó (A Thousand Good Things), Királyleányka (Little Princess) and Hárslevelű (Linden Leaf). A number of common varietals have been planted with some success on Hungarian soil, with grapes such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc drawing praise from international experts and buyers alike. For example, Hungarian-planted Cabernet Franc has proved particularly successful in this regard, due to the optimal climate of the Villány region, which guarantees excellent results from the grape year after year.” Hungarian wine is therefore just as diverse, from a wide ranging of native varieties, to more classical varietals, as some of the more known old world wine regions. Hungarian wine has a lot to offer from fantastic full bodied dry reds, to premium quality dry whites, to unique dessert wines, and anything sweet, semi sweet, and sparkling in between.
