Hungarian Wine House is the multi awarded Hungarian wine trader in the UK
Hungarian Wine House has been providing excellent wines and service to private customers and businesses including Wine bars, wine shops, restaurants and Hungarian government bodies since 2008.
Hungarian wine has a history dating back to at least Roman times. With its 22 wine regions, Hungary offers a diverse range of varietals thanks to the unique terroir, style and character embodied within each. Some regions are best known for their white wines, while some are fêted for their reds, but rosé wines are proving increasingly popular during the hot summer months. Perhaps the most well-known wine throughout the country, Tokaji Aszú is an enduring ambassador for Hungarian wine.
There are several indigenous Hungarian grape varieties such as Cserszegi Fűszeres (Cserszeg Spice) Juhfark (Sheep’s Tail), Kéknyelű (Blue Stalk), Irsai Olivér, Furmint, Ezerjó (A Thousand Good Things), Királyleányka (Little Princess) and Hárslevelű (Linden Leaf). A number of common varietals have been planted with some success on Hungarian soil, with grapes such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc drawing praise from international experts and buyers alike. Hungarian-planted Cabernet Franc has proved particularly successful in this regard, due to the optimal climate of the Villány region, which guarantees excellent results from the grape year after year.”
