Pastor Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch) 2013 (Szekszárd) Dry
Kékfrankos is the leading variety in Szekszárd, the most planted and for many people the most important one as well. Harvested the crop from the oldest vines of the Sauli valley. The old vines regulate their yield automatically, therefore they produce lower yields and more concentrated wines. It was fermented in stainless steel, under controlled temperature and after that aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
Medium ruby colour with crisp cherry and raspberry notes on the nose, followed by a touch of spicy and herbal quality. Plum is dominating on the palate completed by a touch of smoke sour cherry, velvet tannin structure and a fine finish.
Perfect to accompany meat dishes, or classic spicy Hungarian dishes, such as Goulash, Fisherman’s soup, or Stuffed cabbage.
