Excellent vintage from an ideal summer: hot and dry, that resulted in a relatively early germination, and therefore early harvest. Well ripened, excellent quality grapes, with high sugars and well balanced acids. The fourth most popular wine from Eger, that has seen a positive increase in popularity in Europe over the last few years.
There are particular rules to qualify for Bulls Blood, and this also varies slightly depending on the region it is produced, Szekszárd or Eger. For this particular Bulls Blood, Kékfrankos must dominate – amongst other local varieties such as Kadarka – but no other variety can be over 50% in the blend. A minimum of 6 months ageing in oak is also a prerequisite.
Ruby colour, rich & spicy, with smooth tannins. Marks of red currant in the nose, complementing the wonderful fragrance of the wooden barrel ageing. A beautiful example of Eger Classicus Bulls Blood.
Excellent with pork, lamb and venison meals, or cabbage dishes. Recommended temperature to be consumed at 16-18°C
