Description
The Eger Wine Region uses the name “Egri Csillag” (Star of Eger) just like “Bikavér” (Bull’s Blood) as a communal brand title. The origin of the wine is protected, and thus according to regional regulations must be made of at least four varieties. Half of the ingredients must be Carpathian Basin originated varieties, and the wine must not include more than 30% Muscat.
Hagymási Egri Csillag 2011 is a gold medal winner. It was blended from 40% Olasz rizling (Welschriesling) 32% Leányka (Little princess), 15% Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris) and 13% Cserszegi Fűszeres (Cserszeg Spice). Even though this is a young wine, the colour is a dark yellow. There is a gentle sweet aroma of roasted apple, pear and citrus rounded up with a touch of clove and vanilla (due to the barrel ageing). The taste is full with pear, citrus and vanilla. Full bodied wine with a long finish.
Perfect as an aperitif or with seasoned white meats. Recommended drinking temperature: 7-8°C.
Alc.14,0% vol, Bottle size: 0,75 liter
