Heumann Kékfrankos 2016
A velvety, smooth red of 100% Kékfrankos (Blaufrankische) from the popular Villany wine region.
Kékfrankos is a flagship Hungarian variety, that gained very high prestige especially in Southern wine regions of Hungary.
The wine has been fermented in temperature controlled steel tanks, and followed by 22 months ageing in 500L Hungarian oak barrique barrels.
Dark purple in colour, with young ruby reflections. Bouquet of black and red fruits, such as plum, blackberry, red cherry, and vanilla. Similarly black fruits, on the palate with added dark chocolate, and spices such as vanilla, tobacco & pepper.
A well balanced wine with smooth, rounded tannins and medium to full body.
Perfect to enjoy now, or also great potential for further ageing.
Makes a perfect match with classic Hungarian goulash, lasagne, steak burger with fries, Sunday roast, or cheesy moussaka. It also goes well with smoked cheeses & Gouda.
