Tokajicum Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttony 2014
Legendary sweet elixir from the well known Tokaj Region. Vivid golden colour through the glass, with lychee & stone fruit flavours of honeyed apricot, peach, and hints of and marmalade that are uplifted with lively acidity. Full bodied, flavoursome and rich, and the texture is soft and creamy.
Botrytised aszu berries are processed under privileged conditions, that features the world-famous Hungarian dessert wine. From careful hand selection, the botrytised aszu berries, have been soaked in most. After pressing, the rich and flavoursome juice is then fermented in wooden barrels for at least 2 years, then one year in bottle.
The number of “puttony”-s indicates: the amount of Aszu pulp (1 puttony: 20-22 kg) that is soaked in one Gönc barrels (136-140 l) must.
Aszu can be a fabulous dessert in itself, or it goes well with blue cheese, dry-cured ham, game, or a wider range or desserts such as cream cakes, custard, crème brûlée.
Recommended drinking temperature 10-12°C. Try it with your favourite dessert, a wine for special occasion. It will be also fantastic in 10-20 years or more.
