Markvart Kadarka is a light bodied, dry red wine from Szekszard, Hungary. It’s 100% Kadarka.
Janos Markvart Jnr is the winemaker at this brilliant winery in the south of Hungary. The grapes grow on mature vines in two vineyard sites, in the Sauli Valley and the Right Hermit respectively, with the latter consisting of hundred year old vines. These bush vines require lots of attention to nurture and sit on steep slopes bathed in sunshine. The grape bunches are sorted and only the best berries go into this wine. The final result is a summery, fresh red wine with spicy red fruit character.
