Ludanyi Andras Kekfrankos Rose is from the sunny hills of Matra wine region, Hungary. Kékfrankos (Blaufrankische) is the most widely planted red grape variety in Hungary. Kekfrankos is also the number one favourite variety of Andras to work with. Not only that his first red wine was made of Kekfrankos, but he also has been enjoying cultivating ever since.

It is a variety that can showcase the specific characters of the terroir, and the region very well. Regardless which of its main wine regions, or specific vineyards it comes from, Kekfrankos remains “so local” every time. Yet, Kekfrankos is a very versatile variety. It works well, from fruity roses, such as this one, to more full bodied, oak-aged base wines of Bulls Blood, depending on the terroir, and the aim of the wine maker.

It presents all the typical characteristics of the variety well. Hence, this Kekfrankos Rose is a rather popular wine at Ludanyi Andras winery. Soft, rosey / salmon pink in appearance, with obvious fruity notes. Young strawberries, fresh raspberries, cream & rosehip are the leading aromas on the palate. Well balanced, elegant and a very pleasant Rose. Not least importantly an excellent value for money!
This Kekfrankos Rose is recommended by the winemaker to pair with lighter salads & vegetable dishes.
